Digging through the DesignWorks files, I saw your name in the Osmond NETLIST Script with a copyright date of 2000.

Discovering Capilano products was one of my reasons for making the switch. I decided to make the move to Mac last year and CAD was one of my obstacles. I appreciate being able to see how you've used Capilano products. You've taken a lot of information and presented it in a very clear and concise format. I've admired the quality of your work ever since. Yves: A few years ago when I decided to build my own synthesizer equipment, your site was one of the first I found. Yes, I would very much like to receive a copy of what you've made if you would be so kind and share. I agree with you, most supplied libraries need tweeking from a little to a lot. Graham: Like you, I've used many different CAD design packages over the years but in my case, they all ran on Windows. I purchased DesignWorks, LogicWorks and OsmondPCB for the Mac and am now wading through the tutorials and documentation. That's not to say both don't have bugs, but you'll find Joe Chavez great and Capilano, well, you have to hassle. I've used a lot of CAD over the years and most of it is pretty poor quality, these two apps together are a powerful combination and better than a lot of stuff at any price. Again, you need to develop your own libraries to get the best out of it. Every pcb done has been done on Osmond since it came out, including some very large ones. I was a beta tester on Osmond and it has many features put in at my request: independent metric/imperial units on everything, TrueType fonts, flipping the board over, to name a few.Įverything I've designed in the past nearly 20 years has been drawn with DesignWorks, starting on a IIci with a 14" screen on to now under OS X. Don't use their libraries, design your own from the ground up or ask me nicely.
LOGICWORKS MAC SOFTWARE
If you want to do engineering on a Mac and hate the naff software on PCs there isn't really any other choice.ĭesignWorks isn't really supported on the Mac now, not seriously anyway, but it doesn't need to be. I've used their LogicWorks and really liked it so I'm interested in their other products.
LOGICWORKS MAC PROFESSIONAL
